Ballet Classes
Kristin’s ballet classes emphasize body awareness, sound anatomical principles, artistry, and musicality. She views ballet technique as a system of movement training, a performance practice, and a somatic approach. Her teaching is influenced by Alexander Technique principles that promote efficient movement, awareness of movement habits, and the individuality of each dancer.
An Associate Professor of Instruction at the University of Iowa Department of Dance, Kristin also serves as Department liaison to the University of Iowa Youth Ballet and School of Dance. She has served on the faculty of the University of Illinois Dance Department, Columbus Dance Theatre Intensive Training Program, University of Iowa Youth Ballet, and has taught master classes at UW Milwaukee, Cornell College, and Shenyung University (China).
